We know exercise is very important to your pet’s mental and physical health. Therefore, Hopewell Animal Hospital offers a well-secured and safe yard at our kennel. Your pet will go out to exercise and play individually a minimum of twice daily. If you have multiple pets that play well together, they may be let out together.

Please call and make a boarding reservation with our Kennel Manager, Kyra Jackson at (804) 458-9521.

You may also email Kyra at Kyra.jacksonhah@gmail.com. Leave a phone number in your email where she can reach you if necessary. Please be advised that Kyra makes every effort to check her email frequently during the week, but if you need to reach her directly, give the office a call during regular business hours.

Boarding Tips & Requirements

  • We require your pet to have Rabies, Bordetella, Distemper/Parvo, Flu/Bivalent vaccinations and yearly Fecals completed at least two weeks before boarding. This will ensure the safety of your pet as well as the safety of all boarders.
  • We highly recommend lepto and heartworm testing for your dog and PRC and feline leukemia vaccines for your cat prior to your boarding reservation. These vaccinations can prevent some of the most common contagious illnesses in your pet. For maximum protection, it is always better to plan ahead and get these vaccines several weeks before boarding. After the initial vaccine or series of vaccines, an annual booster will keep these current.
  • An annual wellness exam for your pet can detect many health problems before they become life-threatening. During the exam, we can test for intestinal parasites, heartworms, and other potential health risks. Our doctors can recommend one of our products to control fleas, ticks, and other parasites that can spread from one animal to another.
